Hello Girls! It’s hard to believe that this is the last week in May. Usually, this means the end of all the hard work in school, and we start planning a month of fun for June. We would usually be looking forward to our school tour, the talent show, sports day and clearing our classrooms. Well Ms Kirwan and myself have been chatting about how hard you’ve worked during March, April and May. We are so impressed with how you’ve managed to keep doing the Maths, English and Irish lessons from home. In the month of June, we’ll still have homework, but will try to concentrate more on fun activities like art, PE, SPHE, music and SESE.. If you have any ideas you’d like us to include during June, why not email us and we’ll see if we can organise it. So keep your eyes peeled on the blog during the month of June!
Ms Mc Manus. P.S. Please see the gallery for some updated pictures. Ava C, and Katie both sent us in some emails they wrote as part of their English...I think E-Buy will have to employ you both to reply to all those emails they receive!! Abia is growing some strawberries in her back garden...let us know what they taste like! Chloe remembered that my birthday is in May and sent me a lovely card...how did you remember that Chloe!!? Hanna is proud of her Irish paragraph that she wrote on her favourite film...and so she should be...I'm very impressed with it. I can't wait to read your Covid-19 stories, so be sure to get cracking!!!

It made me very hungry seeing all the delicious treats you were making! Have a look at our ‘gallery’ section to see your classmates’ recipes. I was amazed at the effort that you put in. It's lovely to see all the different styles of presentation. If you didn't get round to sending in a recipe yet, and would still like to do so, it's not too late! This week, we are continuing with your regular learning homework and English, Irish and Maths activities daily. We are moving onto a new SESE topic; The Famine. We will be learning lots about it over the next few weeks. This week is just an introduction to the topic, and we have short activities for you to do each day. We ask you to make a KWL chart (or print/copy the one we provide) so that you can use this to keep track of all the new facts you will learn about The Famine. KWL stands for: K(what I already know), W(what I want to know) and L(what I have learned). This week, we would like you to email us:
Remember, your parents can email us if you have any questions about your work, if you need some help, or if you want to show us any of the work that you have been doing. We love hearing about how you’re getting on! Best of luck with your activities this week, we hope you are enjoying them! Stay safe, Ms McManus P.S. You girls are so creative. I received some more pictures of your creativity at home and added these to the gallery. Neha did a plant project based on the herbs that were growing in her back garden. She got the inspiration from Homeschool Hub. Diya and her mum are growing strawberry plants and the first little strawberries have started to appear. Katie and her sister Cara made Mary Berry's Heavenly Chocolate Cake and I must say that it looks very tempting. If there's anything that you're up to at home, send it in, and I'll add it to the gallery.

We hope you’re keeping well. Please see below the work for this week. We are giving you your normal learning homework (spellings, tables & Gaeilge verb) as well as some activities for you to do each day. For maths this week, we are learning about weight. This should be a delight for all you girls who’ve been baking and cooking while you've been at home. Try your best! This week I’d love for you to send me
We hope you enjoy the lessons this week. I love getting your emails and seeing how you’re getting on with the work I’ve been setting you. As always, remember your work should have a heading, a date and neat handwriting. I’m looking forward to seeing your recipes and pictures come flooding in to me! Remember, I can only upload a picture of you, if there's at least one other person along with you. Ms. Mc Manus. P.S. I've updated the gallery. Ava submitted a lovely drawing she did of a ballet dancer's feet to accompany her chart during Active Week. Katie has spent a lot of time doing some lego challenges and sent in a picture. Niamh explained the meaning of capacity in a clever way. I must borrow that poster off you Niamh when we get back to school. I uploaded 3 fabulous poems to the gallery; Lilah wrote a wonderful poem about a Twiggy***** (too hard to pronounce!!), Diya captured the essence of spring, and Ava B taught me a new word 'Entomophobia', you'll find the meaning in the poem. I also uploaded a few examples of the Irish paragraphs I received last week because I was so impressed with the standard of your writing. Well done girls and keep up the good work. You're doing great!
